Left, Right, or Straight_5 Analysis

Finnish Ulta Long Championships 2019. Ðœ20. (20 km). Left, Right, or Straight_#5 Analysis  https://www.tulospalvelu.fi/gps/2019smepH20/ This leg 7 was in the early part of the course and it is likely that the tactical layout of the physical forces influenced the choice of route. The winner of M20 class Ilgvars Caune chose the leftmost route, the "calm" one, where it is possible to keep an even run, with minimal climbing and maximum use of the path. He lost 30 seconds from the direct route, but in the final part of the course the leader showed a much better pace. In this M20 class there were comparatively few participants with GPS. We cannot judge qualitatively about all possible routes. In the figure below, the position of the athletes on  leg 7, who had the top 4 results at the finish line, of those with GPS. Therefore we can judge that they were about the same speed in this part of the course. Micro choice on the left route:  The leftmost approach with maximum use of the tra

Review on Confident Orienteering Book

Review by  Klas Karlsson on Confident Orienteering Book Receiving feedback on the book from highly experienced top level athletes is truly a blessing! It's immensely valuable for the author to witness the practical utility of the ideas presented in the book. Such positive input is not only encouraging but also motivating. I'm excited to share that Confident Orienteering Book 2 is already in progress. A heartfelt thanks to the entire team who contributed to the creation of this Confident Orienteering Book 1! Aleksandr Alekseyonok, November 22, 2023 Review by  Klas Karlsson "An impressive piece of work! Short introduction of myself: I have run orienteering for 45 years now. I was very promising as a Junior, and after a bit of struggling as a senior reached the Swedish A-team on a few occasions. However I never managed to make top results. During that time I was most interested in winning, not to the same degree on HOW to win. I thought that by practicing a lot I would even

The planned exit point ("B")was on the slope, making it very easy to determine where to leave the vegetation boundary of open area on the ground. map used: https://www.livelox.com/Events/Show/117334/GrandPrix-2023-08-Zabno See here how to make dramaticlly less errors when execing routes  New e-book on Orienteering for advanced runners

Book Translation

Hello, dear orienteers! I, as the author of  'Confident Orienteering'  e-book, would be pleased if someone would like to translate it into their native languages. The book is already in the process of being translated into French, and negotiations are ongoing for a Ukrainian translation. There have also been preliminary requests for translations into Czech and Portuguese. I have a ready-to-use model agreement for the translation, offering excellent conditions for the translator. According to the translation agreement, the translator will receive rights to the translation, the ability to register the book in their own country (a straightforward and cost-free process), and the freedom to distribute it, including sales. If desired, the translator can also prepare and publish a printed version. For inquiries, please feel free to contact me via emails: aaliaksandr1357@gmail.com confidentorienteering@gmail.com or through my Facebook page. The book "Confident Orienteering"

A Practical Guide for orienteers of level "Intermediate +"

A Practical Guide for orienteers of level "Intermediate +" How many errors do you typically make during an hour of running on a forest course? Have you ever done such a static analysis of it? Is it around 3 minutes, maybe 7, or even 10, or perhaps more than 15 minutes? Imagine reducing those mistakes by 5 or 10 times. Do you think it's unrealistic? It's not! All you need are three things: desire (I want), knowledge (I know), and action (I do). If you're determined to significantly minimise your route execution errors and are ready to put in the effort, this book will equip you with the knowledge you need. After reading it, you'll likely discover new strategies for minimising navigation errors that you've never considered before. Just think: if you've been losing an average of 5 minutes out of every 60 minutes of running due to errors, this book can help you cut that loss down to just 1 minute or even 30 seconds. The best part is that you won't comp
