Struggling with the Same Orienteering Mistakes Again and Again?
If you keep making the same navigation mistakes despite trying different approaches, the good news is that these problems are usually solvable.
In many cases, systematic errors are not caused by a lack of talent or concentration. More often, they come from an ineffective navigation strategy.
Over the last few years, I have spent a lot of time analysing navigation mistakes — both my own and those of other orienteers. One of the main conclusions is that many errors can be prevented through better planning and better route execution.
This is exactly what I am writing about in my books.
Book 1 explains the fundamentals of confident navigation and how to build a reliable navigation strategy.
Book 2 focuses on route planning, route execution, and reducing the risk of mistakes before they happen.
Book 3 is currently in progress and will focus on racing situations: what to do when conditions become difficult, when something unexpected happens, or when you have already made a mistake and need to minimise the time loss.

For many athletes, studying and applying these ideas is enough to achieve significant improvements.
However, not everyone has the time or desire to work through hundreds of pages and translate the concepts into practical habits on their own.
For that reason, I also offer individual coaching.
Personal Orienteering Navigation Coaching
I offer a short programme of five one-to-one online sessions focused on your specific navigation challenges.
What is included:
- Analysis of your routes and mistakes.
- Individual recommendations based on your current level.
- Practical techniques that can be applied immediately.
- Preparation and review work between sessions.
The goal is not simply to discuss theory, but to identify the main causes of your mistakes and help you improve your navigation as efficiently as possible.
Price
5-session programme: 150 EUR
Sessions can be paid individually or as a complete package.
Free introductory meeting
Before starting, we can have a free 20–30 minute online conversation to get acquainted, discuss your goals, and decide whether the coaching would be useful for you.
Language
Coaching is available in English (approximately B1 level).
Availability
The number of places is very limited. Individual coaching requires significant preparation and route analysis, so I can only work with a small number of athletes at a time.
Mid-season is often an excellent moment to improve your navigation. A few targeted adjustments now can lead to noticeably better performances during the second half of the season.
